PVC Material Properties
PVC Material Summary
Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) is a strong, fire retardant material with good impact strength. As a rigid material with high chemical and solvent resistance, PVC is ideal for use in the construction industry. Similar to ABS, it is cheap and widely available. PVC can be found in piping, insulation tubing for electrical wires, bottles and shrink wrap. PVC is fairly UV stable but will still degrade over time in the sun.
The information above has been collected through standardised tests (ASTM International) and serves only as a rough guide for material selection.
